THE GATE HOUSE HIGHGATE LONDON

My other local when Im in London. This is a superb wetherspoons and better than i could ever have hoped for, amazing big building, fast attentive slightly mong staff and plenty of them (unusual for spoons),lots of different seating areas incl a nice beer patio at the rear, the pint of j w lees "hopmeister" was very good and just one of several guest ales on tap(£2.60ypical Wetherspoons,Theres a great theatre upstairs.
Mina a slag who was with me said its  like drinking on the moon. She didn't realise what it was until we wandered in. Shame she said  as this is a lovely looking pub from the outside. Standard wetherspoons beer and service. But its not Dreadful!not bad for a wetherspoons and a nice garden at the back however be prepared sometimes for a long wait to get your beer!!!!!It was Mina's First visit last night and she was very pleased with the beer and the meal she had, it was curry and to be honest the worst curry you could have had but she liked it.
After a while she overcome her prejudice and said Wetherspoons are usually a last resort for me but this one comes 'recommended'.Tried the Nethergate Frank Incense which was nothing brilliant. Still haven't found a Wetherspoon pub I'd want to have more than a pint in more than this one. dont get the curry its shite, really badly cooked, the kitchen looks like its a shambles from the glass window looking in. Go for the Baked potato with cheddar, thats hard to fuck up.
