HALF BROGUES

Theres hardly any real difference between these .The first is Samuel Windsor and is around 30 pounds as opposed to the "Bogart" below which is by Loake and costs 100 pounds circa.I have had both shoes in the past and both are good .But the Windsor is 70 pounds cheaper.Thats thirty pounds if you buy two pairs in the same deal. The Loake seems to have a better sheen though.THE HENDON by Herring .Rubber soles in part .135 pounds circa, not calf plus another view of the BOGART by Loake belowThe Epsom 265 from Alberts of Durham. A nice shoe but a trifle noisome?
The Tudor by Shipton and Heanage =149 pounds. The Edward by Church 456 pounds. The finish doesn't seem greatly enticing but that may be the photo. What about the price? Methinks you are paying at least 200 pounds more for the name but I may be wrong.THE Livingstone in calf 139 pounds. If you can always get calf. This shoe seems like a decent price to be honest. Calf leather shouldn't bend in the middle. This is Shipton and Heanage. Be careful of Charles Tywitt shoes. If you don't get their calf leather then they distort quickly across the instep.I bought Monk Shoes from them and they distorted on first wearing.I don't think they are UK made either. They distorted more than Samuel Windsor ones I bought. I won't be buying their normal leather shoes again although it is a very nice compan with lovely staff .I'm getting thier covert coat soon but no more shoes.Below is the Cambridge by Trickers in calf 265p'sThe Tudor by Shipon and HeanageThe Lanark by BarkerThe gun is a webley to protect your shoes. Moral of the story is if you don't by calf leather then you get distortion, and who wants that.If you want a pair of shoes just to bowl about in then the Windsor are as good as any of the other non-calf ones. I'm basing this on a comparison between Windsor,Loake and Tyitt.Keep reading here as I will show my own photos on how Windsor and Tywitt looks after 3 months wear. I wouldn't dish out ever again 100 pounds for Tywhitt but 30 quid for the Windsor with distortion on the instep is OK for me. Some Windsor shoes seem to have less than others though. The Semi Brogue/half Brogue has little. Make sure you hit their offers page because these shoes like Charles Tywhitt ain't worth a ton.
